Drupal 7 is the most popular version of Drupal, but it goes end of life in November of 2022.
The options for organisations with a Drupal 7 site are
- to upgrade to Drupal 9, which has become a very different CMS. It needs more resources to run, is more expensive to build upon and is more expensive to operate.
- to rebuild your site in another CMS (like Wordpress)
- or to migrate to BackdropCMS, which is what we do.
BackdropCMS is a fork of Drupal 7 (to be precise, a fork of an early development version of Drupal 8).
It lacks the added complexity of Drupal 8, it is much closer to a next version of Drupal 7.
When you want to keep the data of your Drupal 7 site and do not want Drupal 8 (or later), then BackdropCMS is the solution for you.
